Go to Gist Home

Having more teammates on Gist helps you manage your sales, marketing, and customer communication efforts better and helps your entire team send out a uniform message to your website visitors and customers.

Note: Remember to log into the Workspace Owner's account to add, restrict or remove teammates.

Adding Teammates

Welcoming a new member to your Gist team? Follow these steps to make that easy.

  1. Navigate to the Settings > General > Teammates page.
  2. Click Invite User in the upper right.

  3. Fill in the email address of the new member.
  4. Select appropriate permissions according to their role, or set custom permissions.
  5. Click Send Invite.

The teammate you invited will receive an email containing the invitation. This allows them to sign up on Gist and instantly access your workspace.

Troubleshooting Tip: If your teammate doesn't find the invitation email, advise them to check their Junk/SPAM folders. If it's not there, they can create a Gist account with the same email address and add them to your workspace.

Restricting Access to Teammates

Not every teammate requires full access to all Gist features. Here are a few options to restrict access:

  • Workspace Access: Regulate a teammate's overall access to your Gist workspace.
  • Support Access: Control a teammate's reach within Gist’s support functionalities. This includes tools like the Inbox and the Knowledge Base product, enabling collaboration and response to customer queries.
  • Appear in Messenger: Decide whether a teammate is visible in Messenger to website visitors.

Remember, your Gist subscription plan determines the number of teammates with active Support Access.

Removing Teammates

At times, you might need to revoke a teammate's access to your Gist workspace.

Steps to Remove Teammates:

  1. Navigate to the Settings > General > Teammates page.
  2. Locate the teammate you wish to remove.
  3. Click on the Delete button next to their name.

It's important to note that removing a teammate won't delete their history on Gist. All the conversations they were assigned, and any internal notes they might've added will be marked as "Unassigned." This ensures that no crucial information is lost, and other teammates can pick up where they left off.
